Beneath the protective shade of a venerable Wonderboom tree, perched on the sun-kissed cliffs of Santorini overlooking the endless blue of the Aegean Sea, we found our inspiration. With a laptop open and our ever-faithful Aegean cat, Galen Custard, curled at our feet, we sat in his presence; so profound was his impact that even the girls at home would be so enamoured with this feline that they would make framed pictures of his bedraggled but ever-so-beautiful face. Scents of Duty was born in this heavenly Mediterranean setting.

Amidst the laughter carried by the sea breeze and the occasional sip of fresh juice, we navigated the challenges of web design—a task far from my comfort zone. The radiant Greek sun beckoned outside, and technical difficulties with IT nearly convinced me to postpone everything until we returned home. Yet, the irresistible romance of declaring, with absolute honesty, that our venture was conceived here—in this paradise—pulled me back, as surely as a ship is drawn to the sea.

The year leading up to this moment had been a whirlwind. We had a collective twenty-year background in online sales, and more recently, notable changes were marked by a significant move to a larger, more modern office space. Fatigue was inevitable. But, like our resilient Galenân cat, who fiercely guarded his territory before curling up for a nap on a Ted Baker toiletry bag, we pressed on—driven by our passion for exceptional fragrances and a deep desire to reflect the outstanding customer service we had experienced throughout our travels, from the bustling streets of Cheshire to the vibrant markets and restaurants of the Algarve.

Every detail was meticulously crafted by Carolyn and me: from the personalized compliment cards and distinctive italic fonts on our bespoke labels to the thank-you vouchers and carefully selected images for both our website and eBay shop. Each element was designed with the utmost care and integrity, inspired by the beauty and tranquility of our surroundings.

We hope our online space brings you joy and satisfaction, and that you sense the dedication and passion woven into every package we send.
